Hyundai Motor America hosted a celebration toast event in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery March. Held at the Rosa Parks Library and Museum, the event featured many notable civil rights leaders, Hyundai Executives, and influencers.

Selma to Montgomery March
MONTGOMERY – March 6, 2015 – On Friday, March 6, Hyundai Motor America presented 51 Miles Forward, an initiative commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1965 Selma to Montgomery march at the Rosa Parks Museum. The 51 Miles Forward initiative recognized more than 600 people who risked their lives during the civil rights movement to become catalysts of social change and acknowledge Hyundai’s commitment to march Forward in fulfilling the promise to our nation.
Civil Rights Leaders, elected officials, local dignitaries and executives converged in Montgomery and attended the private Hyundai reception. Reception guests received greetings from Dave Zuchowski (President and CEO of Hyundai Motor America) and remarks from Civil Rights Leaders Dr. Bernice King, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Amelia Boynton Robinson and keynote speaker Fred Gray (Civil Rights Attorney) to name a few.

As part of Hyundai Motor America’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, Hyundai presented the Rosa Parks museum with a $10,000 donation and members of the Montgomery community can also enjoy complimentary admission to the Rosa Parks Library & Museum on Saturday, March 7th.
